“The thing I like most about real estate is that it’s not just a job, it’s a profession built on integrity and accountability,” Brenda notes. “What I find most enjoyable is helping clients achieve one of their most important goals – finding their perfect home.”

Brenda brings a diverse background to her present profession. She enjoyed a career with the Department of Defense before moving to Murray and becoming the Manager of Networking and Microcomputer Services at Murray State University. “The education requirements and standards of practice in each field provided me with a strong foundation for problem solving that lends itself to meeting the challenges of evolving methodology in the real estate profession,” she stated.

Her move to Murray gave her an understanding of a family facing a cross-country change of homes and communities. “I appreciate opportunities to build relationships with new people coming into our community and helping them settle in and feel welcomed. I also very much like working with a broad spectrum of people, from first-time buyers or sellers to the ones wanting to downsize, upsize, relocate, or simply retire to the area.”

After retiring from Murray State, Brenda obtained her real estate license thinking she would give it a year to test it out. That was almost twenty years ago. “I discovered I really liked working as a Realtor and the opportunities it afforded me, particularly after joining Kopperud Realty in 2007.”

Brenda has been an active member of the MCC Board of Realtors, serving as Board President and as a director for many years. She has also spent several terms as a Director on the Western Kentucky Regional MLS Board. Her professionalism has earned her a seat on the Professional Standards Appeals Committee. Brenda was recognized in 2008 as the MCC Realtor of the Year, and in 2007 she received the Hoyt Roberts Award for exceptional service to the Board in the first three years of membership. In the broader community, Brenda has been the past President and board member of Business and Professional Women, past President of the Murray Rotary Club, board member of the Foundation for Families and Children, past Chair of the Cable Commission, board member of the Engineering and Technology Advisory Board at MSU and has served on the Architectural Review Board for the city of Murray.

In her leisure time, Brenda enjoys reading, spending time with her family, cooking, needlework, and volunteering at the First Baptist Church and in the community. She enjoys traveling, especially if it involves visiting with her granddaughter, Jordyn, in California.
