“I love the deep connections I’ve formed over my many years in real estate! Whether it’s new residents coming to Murray, acquaintances that become dear friends, or lifelong friends that put their trust in me to help, I’ve enjoyed it all. I also value the relationships with other Realtors, loan officers, appraisers, and tradesmen. There is just something about working with people to find that right home, sell that cherished family homeplace, or grow their financial security in investments that brings a community of people together to make the process a successful one!”

Kathy has been a Realtor since 1987. “I was fortunate,” she notes. “Murray was named the number one retirement community in the country three months after I got my license. My career began with a whirlwind. I learned a lot fast – we all had too – about working with people from all over the country with different expectations and reference points. I’ve always felt that experience set the tone for my career.”

“I also believe in giving back to a career and a community that has given me so many blessings,” she stated. Kathy has served the MCC Board of Realtors for two years as President of the Board and many more as a Director or officer. She has been chosen as MCC Realtor of the Year three times by her peers. She is currently serving on the Regional Professional Standards Committee. “I helped form the framework and bylaws for the Western Kentucky Regional MLS and that was a big step in modernizing and helping to provide better service to clients across the region,” said Kathy.

Kathy has been extremely involved in numerous boards and projects in the community. She presently sits on the Angels Attic Board, which oversees fundraising through the Angels Attic Thrift Shop and supports both Need Line and Hope Calloway with funding. She has been President of Need Line for two non-consecutive terms and remains a member of the board. “During my last term as President, we were presented the opportunity to purchase a new building and erect a 3000 square foot addition through a grant. I’ve always felt I was placed there by a higher power to oversee this project.” The third service, perhaps even more dear to her heart, is her tribute to her late mother, who was a teacher, to donate books to the Santa projects of both school districts. “It started small, but over a period of 25 years, my family has donated over 35,000 new books to school children. I certainly hope that this has made the difference in children’s lives.” For her humanitarian efforts in these areas and many others, Kathy is proud to have received the Kathie Gentry Lifetime Achievement Award for Humanitarian Service to the People of Murray-Calloway County in 2013 and the Rotarian Service Above Self award in 2014-2015.

Kathy and her husband and Principal Broker, Bill, have two children, one of whom has joined them in the business. Kathy loves to read, spend time on Kentucky Lake, and volunteer in numerous organizations.
