Krista’s favorite aspect of real estate is helping first-time homebuyers and sharing in the excitement as they locate and purchase their first home. “This is always a joyous experience, and so fulfilling when they find the right home,” she notes. Equally enjoyable, she adds, is helping clients prepare their homes for listing and trying to get the maximum return on their investment.
Krista’s decision to enter real estate was a natural progression from her early love for homes and home decorating that led to a degree in Home Economics from Murray State. Her position as a Home Energy Advisor for the Tennessee Valley Authority gave her invaluable insight that has carried over into her real estate career. “In this capacity, I worked with homeowners on ways to improve the energy efficiency of their homes to save money on energy bills. We also worked to make their homes more attractive and to retain the market value,” she said. Krista’s knowledge gained from that experience gives her a depth of insight into energy useage, construction practices and evaluation of a home that adds greatly to her real estate practice.
Krista, a Murray native, has always been involved in the community she loves. She began her real estate career in 2007 and has participated in many of the community outreach programs with the MCC Board of Realtors. She has also been an active contributor to the community of Murray, as she has served on the Murray-Calloway County Parks & Recreation Board and later served as President of the Murray Independent School District Foundation for Excellence.
Krista enjoys gardening and boating on beautiful Kentucky Lake. She and her husband, Tony, General Manager of Murray Electric System, have two children and four grandchildren. “I really enjoy being lovingly involved with my four grandchildren,” she adds.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my career in real estate. The support and cooperation between fellow Realtors is always positive, and the friendships I have developed, both with my peers and with my clients, is a treasured aspect of this business.”
